Just like domain authority, it is scored from 0 to 100.

The higher the score of the DR indicates the stronger backlink profile of a website.

Similarly, Google does not use domain rating as their algorithm factor.

Domain Rating vs Domain Authority

SEO newbies are sometimes confused in differentiating between domain rating and domain authority, knowing that both metrics are like twins but not identical.

Domain rating (DR) gives you an insight of the strength of a domain’s backlink profile, while domain authority (DA) gives you an insight on how well a domain can rank in the search engine.

Which is Better Between DR or DA?

In the SEO world, the SEO analyst will measure both DA and DR together instead of just choosing which one to use.

Besides, there are other specific reasons why you should be using both metric:

Domain authority score can be manipulated with a black-hat SEO strategy.

That is why sometimes we can find a 2 weeks old domain can get a DA 50+, which does not make sense in term of SEO natural way.

Meanwhile, a good DR only can be achieved through a strong backlink strategy.

In short, domain rating is just one of the many metric that can be used to determine how valuable a website.
